PREPARING FOR ANAESTHESIA
What to know
Having upcoming surgery is a significant event. Here is some information to step you through our process before your operation date to ensure things are as stress-free as possible.
Who will be my anaesthetist?
Your surgeon has engaged Dr Seah as one of their preferred anaesthetists within a core group that he or she works with regularly. Anaesthesia is an essential component of your operation. Having a consistent team is important to ensure you receive a good outcome.
Will I receive information prior to my operation?
Once your surgical booking has been received, Dr Gloria Seah will send out an information sheet within the week detailing an introduction and general information regarding your anaesthetic. This includes fasting instructions and pre-operative medication advice as required.
The information sheet will accompany a break-down and explanation of your anaesthetic quote which includes rebated amounts and out-of-pocket costs as part of informed financial consent.
A preoperative health questionnaire may be used in place of a phone call to address any concerns you may have prior to surgery. You are of course encouraged to reach out if you would like to discuss specific concerns in greater detail.
Will I get to speak to my anaesthetist on the day of surgery prior to 'going under'?
Yes, you will meet Dr Seah on the day of your operation prior to having your anaesthetic.
